On commercial and larger projects this may involve recommending or working with local Architects, Planners, Building Control officers, liaising with builders, sub-contractors and specialist trades. Interesting projects include the design and fitting out of a number of retail outlets in London when Julie launched her own label Kent & Carey, the classic childrens’ wear collection which went on to win “Best Newcomer” in 1992. She was further nominated and awarded runner-up for Best childrens’ wear shop UK.
Over the last 25 years, the business has built up a loyal team of decorators, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, cabinet and furniture makers and curtain makers. Rarely is a job too small or too big! Julie also works with other specialist designers and has often been involved with designing the graphics, logos and themes.
